The Fiji GIS User Group will hold their September 2007 meeting on Monday 3rd September 2007. Draft agenda as follows:
1. Welcome by Malcolm Ponton (EU) and presentation about EU in the Pacific and EU as supporter for GIS and RS in the region.
2. Updates
3. Sakaio Manoa (SOPAC): Report on the PICISOC conference in Honiara, things like IPv6, open source software, ICT in education, wiring Pacific Island Countries through new underwater cables, recommended hardware and software for the Pacific.
4. Seimisi, (PWD): Water GIS Establishment for PWD, GPS survey was carried out in Pacific Harbour, where the location of meters, valves and pipes were captured and transferred to GIS layers.
5. Wolf Forstreuter, (SOPAC): WorldView-1 and WorldView-2. Two new satellites, which will record with 40cm resolution. The data will also capture new optical windows allowing new applications.
